Lia (New Pathfinder Character)

Seeing to my good ol Swashbuckler died (partially jellied) it was (obviously) time to bring in my next character who is a Psionic Marksman Half Elf so I figured I should write the backstory ASAFP so here it is.

Lia was born a half elf in a marsh in the Human and Elf lands, her mother was an Elf and her father was a Human. Being raised in a marsh she had learned the basics and somewhat more about survival in them by her parents and they would occasionally take her hunting when she was old enough. By the age of 12 she had been taught how to use guns, bladed weapons, was pretty fit for her age and was more than capable to hunt on her own. One day while she was out exploring she came across an old wrecked rowing boat which looked as though it had been there for a long time, after scouting it out she assessed it was safe to approach. At the boat she found minimal belongings of someone’s which were all mostly useless due to how long it had been in the swampy water for along with being broken from whatever attacked the boat. She searched the area a little more then came across an almost fully decomposed crocodile body in front of what looked to be a human skeleton in robes, Lia examined the bodies and figured the crocodile had attacked the person and got killed while biting the man’s leg off from a dagger clean to the head. She searched the body and found a few books in the man’s bag and took them home to check out later. When she went to bed that night she decided to start reading the books which turned out to be on “Psionics” she was quite intrigued with the idea of it and decided to give it some practice. When she was 17 she had learned but not quite mastered psionics in secret due to the fear of being seen as a danger to the village, her parents always told her to never wander outside of the marshes or at least not too far saying that people on the outside were mostly full of greed and did nothing but hate each other, although this didn’t stop her from wanting to explore beyond the marshes behind her parent’s backs.

Maya Work

Havent been posting my progress in maya lately but I have thus far modeled up the first room for my animation (might still need a little work) along with a gas mask filter I proudly made (although there is WAY to much geometry in it so I cannot use it) and well I NEED to fix the problems in that last image cause WOOO no need to explain that.

Surrealism (re-make)

So due to being confused with what classes I am in (has been sorted now though) I gotta re-do the surrealism post although I had made a mistake in it anyway so.

Surrealism is when there are strange events or scenery such as Spellbounds eyeball curtains, or an original form of something but also represents another meaning.

Personal Favourite:

Surrealism is greatly different from the regular Hollywood film due to instead of everything being explained and slapped in your face as it happens, Surreal films make you work out its meaning for yourself and has no specific storyline.

There is a large number of surreal animations (or at least considered) mostly because of the style, Courage the Cowardly Dog I feel is one of these along side Ed, Edd and Eddy

2D Storyboard References

So we are supposed to gather reference pictures for our storyboards although the trouble is that I don't feel like I need any references from the internet and such so what I am doing is using concept art for my 3D animation along with the animatic itself.

Surrealist Film - Spellbound

Spellbound was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and was made in 1945. Surrealist films are different from the usual Western film due to that it is all odd, mysterious and you just cant quite keep track of what is happening or why (something as up everything is upside down)

Surrealism has become popular over the years featuring in many arts and films for example Dr. Seuss's art style is rather similar to surrealism

Cameraman's Revenge

In class today we watched a few old animations/films and we are supposed to write on the one we liked the most so for mine I chose Cameraman's Revenge. Cameraman's Revenge I found pretty odd, funny and interesting just for the fact that it was a stop motion WITH BUGS and it was about "Mr Beetle" who went on a small trip to the city and cheated on his wife for a performing Dragonfly who he had beaten up a Grasshopper to get to. The Grasshopper films the Beetle and Dragonfly "doing things" and ends up hooking up "Mrs Beetle" but getting caught in the act, then after things cool down a bit Mr and Mrs Beetle go and see a movie (yea because bugs having affairs and using cameras wasnt weird enough right?) but the person manning the booth was the Grasshopper and he played the film of Mr Beetle and the Dragonfly which makes things pretty hectic from there onward.
